Turkish Presidency Announces Completion of S-400 Purchase with Russia
The head of the communications department in the Turkish presidency, Fakhruddin Alton, said on Friday that the purchase of the Russian air defense system “S-400” was completed.
The statement came in a terse published by Alton, in response to information published by political editor of the newspaper “Bild” German Julian Rubaki, through his account on “Twitter”.
Robeki said that “diplomatic sources (did not specify nationality) told his newspaper that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will not buy the defense system from Russia,” to respond to him, stressing: “Dear Julian, your sources wrong, take the information from me, 400 completed.”
The United States claims that the Russian S-400 would pose a threat to the systems behind NATO, which Ankara has repeatedly denied.
