National Authority for Human Rights: The Zionist War Crime on Hodeidah Port Is a Deliberate Attempt to Starve Yemenis
Human rights and political bodies have condemned the Zionist crime targeting Hodeidah Port, the most vital economic and humanitarian lifeline for Yemenis, stressing that the attack constitutes a full-fledged war crime aimed at depriving millions of their livelihood. In this context, the National Authority for Human Rights strongly denounced the aggressive airstrikes on the port, affirming that they represent a blatant violation of international laws and conventions.
Systematic Bombing of Infrastructure
The Authority explained that the Zionist aggression initially resulted in injuries among several port workers, terrorized staff and residents of Hodeidah city, and destroyed critical port infrastructure. Hodeidah Port is considered a vital artery for the national economy and a lifeline for Yemenis to obtain essential food and medicine.
It noted that the Zionist enemy deliberately targeted the port’s docks in a dangerous hostile step aimed at halting the entry of commercial ships carrying vital supplies, stressing that this criminal tactic falls within a broader policy of starving the Yemeni people and depriving them of the most basic necessities of life.
A Continuous Bloody Record
The Authority emphasized that this crime is merely the latest in a series of massacres committed by the Zionist enemy against the Yemeni people. Just a week earlier, a bloody massacre claimed the lives of more than 250 martyrs and wounded in Sana’a and Al-Jawf, including women, children, and journalists. It affirmed that such brutality reflects the nature of a criminal entity whose hands are stained with the blood of innocents in both Yemen and Palestine.
A Call for International Action
The statement stressed that targeting a civilian port constitutes a crime against humanity and requires urgent action from the United Nations, the Security Council, and the Human Rights Council to stop the Zionist aggression and prosecute its leaders as war criminals before international justice. The Authority also called on human rights and humanitarian organizations worldwide to raise their voices against these systematic violations, warning that international complicity or silence will only lead to more bloodshed and a widening humanitarian catastrophe.
A Firm Yemeni Stance
The Authority reaffirmed that the blood of the martyrs and the cries of the wounded will not be forgotten, and that the Yemeni people will continue to defend themselves and their legitimate rights, unbroken by the Zionist war machine. It further confirmed that such crimes will not deter Yemenis from continuing their steadfast support for the Palestinian people, especially the resilient Gaza Strip confronting aggression.
