The September 21 Revolution Redraws the Scene: Sana’a University Chants for Palestine and Rejects American and Zionist Hegemony

3

Born out of the September 21 Revolution, which wrested Yemen’s decision-making from foreign guardianship and liberated the popular will from dependence on Washington and Riyadh, the students of Sana’a University today marched in a scene that reflects revolutionary consciousness and deep faith-based belonging. Renewing their weekly tradition, they held a massive student march under the slogan: “A New School Year with Gaza, Against Aggression, and With Our Army in the Field,” affirming that the will of the Yemeni resistance is no longer hostage to embassies of hegemony or normalization.

The march, which began in the heart of Sana’a and was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Sa’adi, University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, the Secretary-General of the University, vice presidents, deans, and research center directors, sent a message to the world: “Gaza is not alone, and Yemen will not remain silent before the massacres, no matter how long the Arab and Islamic silence lasts.”

The People of Faith Stand True—Palestine at Heart
Chants and slogans raised the flags of Yemen and Palestine, reverberating throughout the university with cries of anger and loyalty to Palestine, denouncing the genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against the children and women of Gaza under direct American cover and the complicity of shameful and treacherous regimes.

Participants affirmed that the Yemeni people’s position toward Palestine has never been seasonal or fickle, but is a faith-driven commitment rooted in the Qur’an, in support of the oppressed, and a continuation of the September 21 Revolution that freed Yemen’s decision from dependency and restored national sovereignty.

The University in the Arena of Struggle—Not the Halls of Silence
The Minister of Higher Education explained that Sana’a University, through this vibrant demonstration, proves that the academic elite are not isolated from the nation’s issues, but are present at the heart of the confrontation and partners in the struggle. He noted that Yemeni universities now stand at the forefront of challenge, presenting a model to the nation in awareness, belonging, solidarity, and victory for the oppressed.

He praised the steadfastness of the university’s students and staff, despite Yemen’s ongoing siege and aggression, emphasizing that such awareness is a fruit of the September 21 Revolution, which ended tutelage over state institutions and severed the strings of embassy dependency.

Student Statement: Palestine is Our Responsibility—The Decision Belongs to the Resistance
The statement issued at the march, read by the university president, stressed that the ongoing crimes against the people of Gaza for more than 21 months represent the greatest moral scandal for Arab rulers and a mark of shame on humanity. It noted that Arab silence is nothing but complicity in the bloodshed and an abandonment of faith, identity, and dignity.

The statement renewed full authorization to Yemen’s revolutionary, political, and military leadership to escalate retaliation and strikes against the Zionist enemy and its backers, affirming that the enemy has no choice but to end its aggression, lift the siege, or face a torrent of fire coming from Sana’a.

The statement also praised the qualitative operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea and against the enemy’s vital facilities, asserting that Yemeni deterrence is no longer theoretical but a reality that is changing equations and unsettling decision-making centers in Washington and Tel Aviv.

Awakening the Nation’s Conscience—A Stand That Knows No Neutrality
The statement urged all Arab, Islamic, and international universities to break the wall of silence and to stage global student and academic demonstrations to expose Zionist crimes and pressure reluctant governments to stop supporting the occupation or covering up its atrocities.

The march concluded with a revolutionary poem by the distinguished poet Abdul Salam, expressing the pulse of the Yemeni people, who see Gaza as the symbol of the nation’s dignity and resistance as an honor that cannot be forsaken.
