January 18: A Day That Exposes the Repeated Crimes of the Aggression Against Yemenis
January 18 stands as one of the days that clearly reveals the scale of crimes committed by the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression against the Yemeni people. Over successive years, this date has witnessed repeated airstrikes, missile attacks, and artillery shelling targeting civilians, their homes, markets, and vital infrastructure across several governorates, resulting in martyrs and wounded, as well as widespread destruction of public and private property.
2016
On January 18, 2016, three citizens were killed in an airstrike by the aggression on a cigarette transport truck in the الساحرة area of Mokha city, Taiz Governorate. Three children were also killed and others injured in an airstrike that targeted a home in the Bir Basha area, which additionally caused the destruction and damage of several neighboring houses.
In the same governorate, the aggression carried out airstrikes on Mokha Port, the veterinary quarantine facility, and the main road linking Ibb and Taiz in the Al-Qaeda area, in addition to strikes on Al-Barh in Maqbanah District and various locations within Taiz city.
Five airstrikes targeted Al-Omari Camp in Dhubab city, along with additional strikes on scattered areas in Wahijah, Al-Hanishiyah, and Al-Sanmah in Al-Wazi’iyah District, causing extensive damage to public and private property.
Airstrikes also targeted the General Administration of the Capital Secretariat Police building and the Pedestrian Police Administration on Al-Adl Street in the Al-Tahrir area, resulting in martyrs and wounded among civilians and significant damage to homes and commercial shops. The scouts’ headquarters and the Al-Nahda area near the Orphan Foundation were also targeted.
In Sa’ada Governorate, a citizen was killed and his wife and son injured when their home in Baqim District was targeted. Airstrikes hit several areas and districts, including public roads, communication networks, and Al-Salam Sports Stadium. Other strikes extended to the governorates of Amran, Sana’a, Marib, Al-Jawf, Ibb, and Hajjah, targeting factories, industrial facilities, communication towers, and agricultural areas.
2017
On January 18, 2017, six citizens were killed and 15 others injured when artillery fire by aggression mercenaries targeted Monday Market in Al-Matun District, Al-Jawf Governorate. Two women were also killed and several others injured in a missile attack that hit a home in the same district. Additionally, a man and a woman were killed and 15 others—among them women and children—were injured in an airstrike that targeted a wedding in Al-Yatma area, Khabb wa Al-Sha’af District.
In Taiz Governorate, two citizens were killed and four others injured by tank shelling that targeted Al-Arsoom village in Al-Ta’ziyah District. A woman was also killed by artillery shelling that struck the northern villages of Taiz city. Airstrikes and shelling also affected Sa’ada, Lahj, Al-Hudaydah, Sana’a, and Hajjah, in addition to areas inside Saudi territory.
2018
On January 18, 2018, one citizen was killed and another injured in two airstrikes on the main road in the Razamat area of Al-Safra District, Sa’ada Governorate. Two citizens were also injured when a truck belonging to the Sama Yemen Foundation was targeted while distributing shelter aid to displaced people in Bart Al-Anan District, Al-Jawf Governorate.
Airstrikes also hit areas in Dhubab, Taiz Governorate, and an ice factory in Harad District, Hajjah Governorate.
2019
On January 18, 2019, seven citizens were killed in a drone strike north of Al-Hudaydah Governorate. Three others, including a woman and a child, were killed and four injured when aggression mercenaries shelled the Al-Fazah area in Al-Tuhayta District.
The same district experienced intense artillery and machine-gun fire, along with attacks on Al-Durayhimi and Hays districts and the construction of military fortifications within residential areas. Airstrikes also targeted homes and property in Sa’ada Governorate, as well as areas in Amran and Hajjah.
2020
On January 18, 2020, aggression mercenaries shelled residential neighborhoods in Al-Hudaydah city and its districts with dozens of artillery shells, mortars, and machine-gun fire, leading to house fires and extensive property damage. Razih border district in Sa’ada Governorate was also subjected to Saudi missile and artillery shelling, alongside airstrikes on Sana’a and Marib governorates.
2021
On January 18, 2021, the aggression launched airstrikes on districts in Marib and Hajjah governorates, while reconnaissance aircraft carried out strikes on areas in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, accompanied by artillery and missile shelling and the establishment of military fortifications within targeted areas.
