Deaths in Aden due to the summer heatwave and severe electricity crisis

The city of Aden is witnessing an alarming deterioration in living and health conditions, which, according to activists, has resulted in deaths among the population, coinciding with a record rise in temperatures and humidity levels with the arrival of summer and the failure of the mercenary government to provide basic services.

This heat wave comes amid a severe worsening of the city’s energy crisis, with power outages reaching more than 20 hours a day, causing a near-total paralysis of basic services and leaving residents unable to secure cooling methods to cope with the extreme heat.

Local sources reported that the groups most affected by these conditions are the elderly, children, and those with chronic diseases, who face great difficulty in enduring the sweltering atmosphere inside homes due to the long power outages.

In the same context, appeals from citizens and activists in the city have intensified, demanding that radical solutions be found to the recurring electricity crisis in order to reduce the worsening humanitarian and health repercussions that threaten the lives of residents.
