Sanaa: Announcement of a new mechanism for renewing vehicle licenses

The General Directorate of Traffic Police announced its intention to implement a new mechanism that allows vehicle owners to optionally renew their ownership cards (“driving licenses”) for periods ranging between “two or three years”, starting from the beginning of next August.

The traffic police explained that this measure comes based on the traffic development plan matrix, and within the framework of a package of measures aimed at simplifying procedures and facilitating services for citizens, to ease their burden and save them time and effort.

She stressed that the new mechanism gives citizens flexibility in choosing the time period that suits them to renew their vehicle documents, stressing that it will make the technical and technological arrangements in the departments and issuing centers in various governorates, to ensure that the new system will start working smoothly and easily as soon as it is launched.

The traffic police indicated that they are proceeding with the implementation of modernization and development plans, improving traffic performance, and continuously working to automate and simplify services in order to meet the public interest and take into account the current circumstances of citizens.
