Yemeni army forces score as their enemy sustains losses in the west coast

In response to the US backed-Saudi led coalition attempts to advance on the ground with their paid fighters in Hodeidah province, Yemeni army forces have hit back, infliction the coalition  great losses of its soldiers, paid fighters and military equipment.

The Yemeni army , today, bombarded coalition-paid fighters with artillery shells in the western coast front, a military source told YemenExtra.

Army’s artillery targeted gatherings and fortifications of the paid fighters in Hais district, it added.

They also foiled an advance attempt of the paid fighters in the same front, killing dozens of the paid fighters and destroying three military vehicles in west of Tuhaita district.

Yesterday, Twenty paid fighters, fighting with the coalition forces, were killed west of Al-Duraihemi in the West Coast, according to a military source .

A military source in the Ministry of Defense confirmed last Tuesday that 180 paid fighters were killed and 136 were wounded during their operations and their attempts to control the city of Al-Duraihemi and some coastal areas within 72 hours.

The source also confirmed destroying 20 military machinery with their crews and equipment, including American Ashkosh armored vehicle in Al-Duraihemi and Hais frontlines in West Coast.

Seperatly, two civilians were killed and two others were injured today by the coalition strikes that targeted farms in Tahita district, in Hodeidah province.

UAE, notably,  refused to receive wounded of the coalition paid fighters in Abo Dhabi, and directed to take them to Egypt, local sources in Aden airport told YemenExtra.

The injured were wounded, during their confrontation with Yemeni army in the western coast.

This news caused a state of indignation for southern paid fighters who fight with coalition and under the UAE banner.

25 injured were transferred today to Egypt through Aden airport.

The US-Saudi-led coalition  launched an offensive on Hudaydah on 12 June in the largest battle of the war that the United Nations fears risks triggering a famine in Yemen where an estimated 8.4 million people are on the verge of starvation. Recently, It has been paused for peace talks, but no deal has been struck leaving Yemenis pessimistic over a viable political process.

Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi(Ansarallah)  movement, which is the main force that faces the coallition, said on a TV speech ,” The decision of invading the Yemeni ,western coast, has been taken and adopted by the United States of America,noting that the Saudis are trying to abolish Yemen’s freedom,” stressing that it was the people of Yemen’s right to defend their country.

The Bab el-Mandab Strait, which is the southern entrance to the Red Sea, is one of the world’s key shipping lanes for crude oil and allows crude exports into the European market.

The United Nations said more than 350,000 people have been displaced from the strategic Red Sea port town of Hudaydah in western Yemen since June.Deputy spokesman for the Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, said during a press conference on Monday that violent clashes have erupted in the city over the past few days, especially in the Ad Durayhimi district.He added that emergency humanitarian assistance has already been provided to more than 90 per cent of those displaced.
