FM meets with Head of ICRC in Yemen

The Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday met in capital Sanaa with Head of the International Committee for Red Cross.

Several topics concerning of cooperation between the ICRC and country and means to develop them were discussed during the meeting.

The FM referred to the last development on the humanitarian arena in country because of the US-saudi aggression coalition and the five-years of siege imposed on Yemen, as well as the continued economic war and policy conducted by coalition targeting to punish the Yemeni people, especially with the continued holding for oil derivatives vessels and preventing their enter to Hodeidah port, which should led to catastrophic repercussions.

He referred to the continued hindering by the coalition to the implementation of the Sweden agreement, including the file of prisoners’ exchange, praising the efforts deployed the ICRC in this regard.

He hailed the role played by the ICRC in the humanitarian arena, reaffirming the readiness to provide all facilities needed by the mission and its staff.

In his turn, the ICRC’s official affirmed the keenness of the ICRC to provide all possible support aspects to the Yemeni people to alleviate their humanitarian suffer.
