Ministry of Health Official: Health System is about to Collapse due to the Aggression and Siege

A spokesman of  the Yemeni Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdul Hakim al-Kahlani, on Tuesday evening, confirmed that the health system in Yemen is about to collapse for many reasons, most notably aggression and siege.

A spokesman of the Ministry of Health told Al-Massirah channel that 5,000 patients of renal failure suffer daily due to the scarcity of substances that should be available in dialysis centers, as well as cancer patients and diabetics.

A spokesman of the Ministry of Health confirmed that what are being committed against the health system in Yemen by the coalition are crimes against humanity, revealing that the health sector lost 80 martyrs and 220 wounded, 412 health facilities destroyed , and 360 ambulances destroyed as well.

Dr. Kahlani said that “international law considers the attack on the health system , when it is only one, a crime ,how about 412 facilities.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health would formally ask the World Health Organization not to send expired materials again, referring to the expired drugs seized in Ta’z province.

It is noteworthy that the security agencies and health authorities in the province of Ta’z seized ,earlier on the day, 9 trucks of the World Health Organization carrying expired medicines provided as a relief for the people of the province.
