A Yemeni protest in the capital Sana’a called for the liberation of Dr. Hussein al-Mutawakil after he was kidnapped by Saudi paid-militias while traveling by land in Marib on the 27th of the previous April month.

The protest was organized by the union and staff of the General Authority for Investment, where they condemned the kidnapping of Dr. Al-Mutawakel and forcing him to leave the bus he was traveling on-board, local source reported to YemenExtra.

The currently missing doctor was traveling at the Falaj point in Marib governorate, which is held by Saudi paid-militias and Al-Qaeda affiliated members, after he returned from participating in a scientific conference on investment in Morocco under an official invitation from the Arab Investment Organization.

They stressed their solidarity with the Chairman of the General Authority for Investment, Dr. Mustafa Almtawakil, whom is now being hidden in an unknown location by Hadi loyalists.

The outraged protesters state that since the moment of the detention of Dr. Mutawakil,
he was isolated and no one was allowed to visit him nor check up on his safety. His family also remains in a worry and can not in any way contact him.

A statement issued by Dr. Al-Mutawakel’s family said that the prevention of his family, the lawyers team and the syndicate from visiting him is a flagrant violation of the international principles, laws and charters of human rights.

The Saudi-led coalition has been imposing an air, sea and land siege on Yemen for two years and a half, leaving those in need of traveling in or out with no choice but to use land transportation through insecure areas held by Saudi paid-militias.
