The Chinese military plans to send troops to Syria to fight against a group of Chinese terrorists fighting alongside with the Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group, the official media page for the Hmaymim Airbase reported, as quoted by Telsur TV.

An estimated 2,500 Uyghur separatists are fighting in Syria under the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP),  according to the report.
The Chinese military will be sending two special operation divisions, including the Tigers of Siberia, to help defeat these terrorists.
TIP is one of the largest terrorist groups present in northwest Syria; they have participated in several offensives against the Syrian Arab Army, including the capture of Jisr Al-Shughour in the Summer of 2015.
