The military media of the Yemeni army forces have, on September 24, released footage of the graduation of a new unit of the Yemeni military. The unit, nicknamed Imam Hussein after the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, was shown in a military parade and armed exercises upon completion of their training.

Due to popular rage about the continuous Saudi-imposed war, including constant bombing raids on Yemeni cities, the Armed Forces of Yemen have received vast amounts of new volunteers, whom are being trained for various units within the military.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi.

In March 2015, the US backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
