The British Independent newspaper published an article by Patrick Coperne entitled “Mohammed bin Salman’s ill-advised ventures have weakened Saudi Arabia’s position in the world”.

“Countries in the Middle East are well aware that there are winners and losers and no one wants to be on the losing side,” said Koberne.

“Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is undoubtedly the most prominent person in the Middle East this year, but his biggest impact comes from failure rather than success,” he added .

“Bin Salman is being accused of meciavellia in making his way to the throne and attacking his rivals inside and outside the royal family, but when it comes to the Kingdom’s position on the world stage, his erroneous calculations have led to its decline.”

“The prince, who described as a manipulator and a fugitive, was involved in projects outside the kingdom leading to consequences that contradicted what he wanted and planned,” the article added.

“At about the same time, Bin Salman pushed for a military intervention in Yemen under the name of the” storm of firmness”,but after two and a half years, the fighting is still going on after it killed more than10,000 people and left about 7 million people on the verge of famine.

“Bin Salman’s foreign policy was to deal violently with Iran and its allies in the region, but these policies eventually led to the expansion of Iran’s role and increasing its influence in the region,” pointed out the article.

“Mohammed bin Salman has wisely decided that the kingdom should play an active and firm role, but until now, its political and economic capacity is declining,as well as Bin Salman is pushing and making a lot of enemies,”  Koberne concluded.
