The American Institute for Political Studies described the decision of challenging the senators from the Republican and Democratic parties led by Sen. Bernie Sanders to end the US role in the Saudi-UAE war on Yemen as “good news.”

It has considered the American intervention in the sale of arms and the sending of US aircraft to refuel the Saudi Arabian aircraft in the air illegal, unconstitutional and unreasonable.

The US Institute noted in a report that although Yemen had witnessed civil war for many years, it stressed that it was not so humanly devastated until the Saudi-UAE alliance began, with full support from the United States, an air campaign to restore power to Saudi-friendly President Hadi. This intervention has turned the Yemeni civil conflict into a full-scale war, it stressed.

Moreover, the report said that Ansarullah have always enjoyed strong ties with Iran, but were never close to being agents for the Iranians.

The report revealed that Iran tried to dissuade Ansarullah combatants from storming the capital Sana’a, but failed to do so. The US intelligence officials agreed that Iran did not have control over Ansarullah, it ,mentioned.

This is not the first time such a subject has been raised in the Senate, according to the report of the American Institute.

The report pointed out that the Council issued a non-binding resolution last year, stressing that the US military support for the Saudi-UAE alliance is not authorized, but pointed out that this is the first time that opportunities are available to vote in the Council on such a fateful decision.

It explained that the decision is based on the 1973 War Powers Act and that if approved, it would limit the president’s ability to wage wars without the Council’s approval, except in three exceptions: direct attack on the United States, its territory, its property or its armed forces, noting that none of these exceptions apply to Yemen.

He said that if passed, it would be in line with popular opinion polls that 71 percent of Americans believe the Senate should pass legislation to prevent military action.

The report said that if the resolution is passed, the president will have 30 days to end the US intervention in the war on Yemen, considering that it is a relatively long period, so that air strikes can kill during that period a lot of people.

He said it was a real chance to stop American killing in one of the countries where US bombers, pilots, special forces and other parts of the Pentagon’s killing machine are deployed.
