The national delegation for the consultations ,headed by Jalal Ali al-Ruwaishan, the deputy head of the delegation in Yemen, met the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen Martin Griffith and the delegation accompanying him.

At the meeting, members of the national delegation of the consultations expressed dismay at that the delegation wasn’t able to attend the Geneva consultations ,for which was called by the UN envoy on 6 September 2018 as a result of the obstacles intended by the US backed Saudi-led coalition towards the efforts of the United Nations and a safe transfer that ensures the safety of the delegation and its travel and return to the homeland without any delay or procrastination as happened previously.

The members of the national delegation stressed readiness to consultations and confidence-building which aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, who face with legendary steadfastness military aggression against all elements of life, as well as a comprehensive siege ,the closure of Sana’a International Airport .

For his part, the UN envoy regretted the inability of the national delegation to leave Sanaa, pointing out that he still believes in the possibility of continuing work to reach a compromise and build confidence.

The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations presented to Yemen a summary of his consultations with the delegation with the other party.
