Saudi-led coalition sustains losses at the hands of the Yemeni army forces
The Air Force of the Yemeni army forces launched an airstrike Wednesday with Qasef K2 drone targeting gatherings of the coalition army in Al-Rabwa area of Asir front.
A military source told YemenExtra that the attack hit its target accurately, confirming the deaths and injuries of number of their enemy.
Their air defense , recently, said that the unit has shot down 17 coalition’s drones over the past 80 days. The operation took place in Najran, Hodeidah, Jizan, Saada and Sanaa province.
Revealing a new model of the “Exploring and Exploding” drone, Qasef 2K , The Yemeni Air Force recently used it in the attack on the Airbase of Al-Anad, which inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. “This drone has been tested for its accuracy and effectiveness, it can carry heavy payloads and can cause wide damage to targets,” The Armed Forces Spokesman, Brigadier Yahya Sari said. “A video showing its design, history of development and tests will be distributed soon,” he promised. The Air Force spokesman, Brigadier General Al-Jafri, said that our aircraft could penetrate the enemy’s airspace without being detected, pointing out that there are many surprises similar to this one will be revealed. Qasef 2K targeted a large military parade of the coalition at the air base of Al-Anad, killing and wounding dozens, including senior military and political leaders. Various media outlets have released scenes of the explosion the drone caused, on a platform where leaders of the paid fighters were present.
“Our missiles and drones are able to reach their targets, despite the measures of the UAE,” Yemeni Army spokesman Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman has said. All targets are strategic, in the range of the Yemeni fire, and targeting will be sore to the enemy. “The next would be tougher and the invaders and their mercenaries would reap only shame and awful defeats on the hands of our heroic heroes”, Armed Forces Spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e added.
He stressed that this qualitative operation is the inauguration of the new combat year 2019, which will be the year of victories and qualitative operations unless the forces of the coalition and their paid fighters accepted peace and stopped their war against their homeland and people.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.
