Yemeni army forces’ spokesman announces hitting Saudi airports

The Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sari, announced recently that an offensive operation was carried out by the air force of the Yemeni army forces on Saudi airports.
Brigadier General Sari said in a press statement that the air force had carried out large-scale offensive operations with the K2 bomber aircraft, which targeted the regional airports of Abha and Jizan.
Brigadier explained that the operations targeted the warplanes and other military objectives, affirming that the targets were hit with high precision ,causing the disruption of air navigation .
In June 23, Saree said the country’s air force has carried out “large-scale” attacks with K2 drones against Jizan and Abha airports.
In June 21,Brigadier confirmed that the attacks on Thursday by the Yemeni Air Force saw indigenous Qasif-2K drone destroy a number of targets at the Jizan Airport.
According to Al Masirah television network, the air traffic remained suspended as of the time of this writing.
Notably,Yemeni forces targeted a power plant in Jizan province southwest of Saudi Arabia using a cruise missile.
He added that “This operation comes in response to the crimes of aggression and its continuous siege for the fifth year in a row on our great Yemeni people.”
Since June 12, the airports of Abha and Jizan have been subject to almost daily attacks by Yemenis who send their UAVs and missiles in order to paralyze the two airports and force the Saudi enemy to lift the siege on Sana’a airport and stop its raids on Yemeni territory.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
More than 2,200 others have died of cholera, and the crisis has triggered what the United Nations has described as the world’s worst humanitarian disaster.
