Amnesty International Welcomes EP’s Call to Ban Arms Exports to Saudi Arabia




Amnesty International welcomed on the European Parliament’s call to EU member states to move towards a “collective ban” on arms exports to Saudi Arabia.

Amnesty International said in a statement published, on Sunday, that the ban should not only be imposed against the backdrop of killing Khashoggi, but mainly because Riyadh and its war-led coalition on Yemen.

The organization pointed out that evidences are clear that Saudi Arabia and members of the coalition were using prohibited weapons in its operations led to killing civilians and destroying the infrastructure, which calls for a European embargo to export arms to all coalition participating countries.
